The service on your material
You send the material, De Grandi micronizes it and returns it. Jet-mill plants, laboratory trials, an ISO 9001 certified quality system.
The steps
The service works on the customer’s own material. The usual sequence is simple: you describe the material and the fineness you need, De Grandi runs a laboratory trial on a small quantity, and once the result is confirmed the production run is scheduled.
The trial step is not a formality. Different materials behave differently under a jet mill, and it is the trial that establishes whether the target particle size is achievable and under what process conditions.
The technology
The jet mill grinds with compressed air, not with mechanical parts. For a contract service this matters more than anywhere else: the material that comes back is the material you sent, reduced in particle size, without metal contamination or wear residue introduced by the process.
For technical compounds, where an unexpected contaminant can compromise an entire batch, this is usually the deciding factor.

The guarantees
De Grandi operates under a quality management system certified to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, first issued in 2000. The laboratory carries out incoming checks on raw material specifications and quality control on production and finished products.
For a contract customer this means the process is documented and repeatable: the same material, processed again, comes back the same.
Certifications & qualityFAQ
It is a service in which the customer sends their own material and De Grandi micronizes it and returns it. The processing is carried out with compressed-air jet mills at the plant in Tromello, in the province of Pavia, Italy.
You describe the material and the fineness required, De Grandi runs a laboratory trial on a small quantity, and once the result is confirmed the production run is scheduled. The trial establishes whether the target particle size is achievable and under what process conditions.
No. The jet mill grinds with compressed air rather than mechanical parts, so nothing rubs against the material. There is no metal contamination and no wear residue from grinding media: the material comes back as it was sent, reduced in particle size.
There is no list price. The cost depends on the material, the target particle size, the quantity and the process conditions required. De Grandi assesses each request individually: it is useful to indicate the material and the desired fineness from the outset.
Yes. De Grandi operates under a quality management system certified to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, first issued in 2000. The laboratory carries out incoming checks on raw material specifications and quality control on production and finished products.
