Curing, or vulcanisation, is the process through which the polymer chains of the fluoroelastomer are linked to one another, giving the material its elastic properties and the resistance that characterises it. In FKM this process requires a balanced system of inorganic additives.

This is where Fluoran UR comes in: an inorganic component that acts as an activator and, at the same time, as an acid acceptor.

Fluoran UR is an inorganic activator and acid acceptor designed specifically for the curing of fluoroelastomers. The two functions are not separate: by neutralising the acidic species, the product stabilises the conditions under which curing takes place, and this is reflected directly in the regularity of the cure.

The ultrafine particle size — 0% above 80 μm — ensures optimal reactivity and a uniform distribution of the activator throughout the compound.
